Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant based at our head office in Farnborough, UK.

Position Summary:

This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer based in Farnborough. You will be working closely with the Financial Account, also based in Farnborough, on a daily basis.

You will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping functions for both the Farnborough and Manchester offices, with the view of progressing within the role as the business expands.

You will need to be able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines & be able to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable – Inputting all invoices, dealing with supplier queries, matching supplier invoices with delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Purchasing – working with the procurement teams in both the UK and Israel to raise and place purchase orders with suppliers.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure all transactions are correct.
  • Completing new supplier forms and setting them up accurately in the system.
  • Checking and entering staff expense claims, making sure all approval processes are correct.
  • Reconciliation of credit card expenses.
  • Reconciliation of BS accounts
  • Posting of bank transactions and reconciling bank statements.
  • Review all AP transactions for monthly VAT returns
  • Help with year end audit queries.
  • Liaise and support with the office managers in both Farnborough and Manchester.

 

Experience of Candidate:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Word and working with spreadsheets
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Studying towards Accounting qualification is an advantage (e.g., AAT)
  • Experience in working in accounts team.
  • Strong people skills and communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
  • ERP system (Oracle/ SAP/ Priority) experience will be an advantage
  • Ad Hoc Duties within the team
