S-CUBE Wideband CubeSat SDR Platform

SatixFy’s S-Cube brings to the market a complete Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform capable of enhancing CubeSat satellites technology. S-Cube modem provides a very high capacity download of massive data payload produced by observatory sensors, transmitted in a line-of-sight short time window.
SatixFy’s S-Cube modem supports full duplex data link for TT&C and payload data. The S-Cube is powered by SatixFy’s SX-3000 SDR ASIC which is a high flexibility communication platform enabling any CubeSat manufacturer to integrate the modem with bus/payload design and configure embedded modem software. S-Cube delivers a rich feature set and capability in small size, low power and high-performance module.
High throughput S-Cube includes built-in hardware accelerators for high bit rate operation, such as FEC, various standard compliant modcodes and acquisition engine with Doppler tracking. An indoor matching ground unit is available for the earth station supporting signal acquisition and tracking.

The module is customized by adding software features and hardware integration. The S-Cube is a high efficiency and flexibility L-Band/S-Band/X-Band communication module powered by SatixFy’s SX-3000 ASIC, a DVB-S2X full-featured modem with CCSDS stack and a strong acquisition engine featuring fast doppler tracking. It is capable to very high capacity download of massive data payload produced by observatory sensors, transmitted in a line-of-sight short time window.

The S-Cube product is designed to support various CubeSat missions:

  • High data-rate downlink transmitter (Tx only) to be integrated with a patch antenna.
  • High data-rate downlink and TT&C transceiver (Rx+Tx), operating in TDD or FDD modes. May be integrated with patch or omni antenna (for reliable TT&C communication).

Closed loop communication with SatixFy’s ground station enables ACM for high efficiency link. The S-Cube transmission parameters e.g. Modulation, Coding, Power transmit level, are automatically controlled. A wide-range of modulations from VL-SNR (-10 dB) up to 256 APSK (+20 dB) are available maximizing link throughput in variable channel conditions.
